HOW I PRICE MY WORK
Quotes are based on the size, my time, materials, & planning of the portrait. You may want a basic painting, or possibly your pet put into a coloured background that will match your sitting room, bokeh, or a more complicated background that was a ‘happy’ place, such as a room, beach, lake etc. Each quote is based on your specific requirements to get the portrait of your dreams, so there is no set price.
My 40x30 pet portrait, for example, will take around 25 hours. A large double portrait could take up to 50 hours. A human portait will take significantly longer.
I use the best paper & materials on the market in my opinion. Canson MiTeintes Velvet paper, Schmincke, Unison & Rembrandt soft pastels, & Stabilo Carbothello, Derwent, Pitt, Bruynzeel & Caran d’Ache pastel pencils.
I spend as long as necessary looking at photos to find the best reference for the painting. Then we plan the background & the intricate details of the painting. Often I place the photo against numerous different colour backgrounds, to ensure we find exactly what you’re looking for.
I make the process pleasurable & fun, & send plenty of progress shots, along with a few surprises along the way!
More often than not my clients become friends, as we’ve spent so much ‘virtual’ time together. I’m in no doubt that not only will you love the finished portrait, but you will thoroughly enjoy the process from start to finish.
