I am Cornish, but moved
to Catalonia, Spain over 20 years ago with my husband, 2 tiny daughters, & then joined by my widowed Mum. My gorgeous girls have now flown the nest to follow their chosen career paths.
We live on an olive farm, about 4km from the beautiful, medieval village of Tivissa. Every November we harvest our olive oil, producing heavenly, extra virgin olive oil.
For a great number of years I worked for prestigious long haul airlines, based in the UK & Middle East. I also spent the majority of my childhood in South America & the Gulf, so have been privileged to travel the world extensively.
I have been drawing animals as long as I can remember. I’ve also done a lot of character based art on children's bedroom walls, pyrography, decoupage & watercolours. I diversified in to pastels about 5 years ago, & haven’t looked back since. I now work 50/50 alongside my foot health business.
Portraits from photographs
I will paint your pet or pets from photographs, so will require beautiful high resolution pictures to achieve the best results. I pride myself on my realism, & feel honoured to think my art is sitting on people’s walls, all around the world.
Painted in pastel
I work in pastel in it’s different forms, soft pastel, pastel pencils & PanPastel. The soft pastels are hand made from powdered, pure pigments in their highest concentration, which are then mixed with a binder to make the sticks. “With the high pigment content, they are almost at the origin of colour”(Schmincke)
I am passionate about this lightfast, delicate medium, which is believed to be one of the oldest there is, possibly dating back to the 16th century Renaissance period.
